VOTING INFORMATION

  • Offices on the Ballot: U.S. Senator, Governor, Attorney General, Congress members, State Legislators

  • Can you register to vote online? Yes 

  • Age Requirement to Register to Vote: Must be 18 years old on or before next election to register

  • Polls Open at 7AM and close at 8PM. As long as you are in line by 8PM, you will be able to vote.

 primary election: 

  • Last Day to Register to Vote: In Person on Primary Day

  • Last Day to Request an Absentee Ballot: July 29th

  • Early Voting: June 18th to August 1st   

  • Election Day: August 2nd 

 general election: 

  • Last Day to Register to Vote: Election Day at Local Clerk's Office 

  • Last Day to Request an Absentee Ballot: November 4th 

  • Early Voting: September 24th to November 7th 

  • Election Day: November 8th

VOTING 
RESTRICTIONS

Senate Bills 1003 and 1485 will restrict vote by mail access by imposing stricter signature requirements for absentee ballots and changing requirements to remain on absentee voter lists, respectively (Source: StatePress)

IMPACT ON 
STUDENT VOTERS

A new Michigan law requires voters to only have one address. So, a student must choose to use either their home address or their school residence address.
